
STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater Area High School baseball team won the Class AAAA state championship with an impressive 8-1 victory over top-seeded Farmington on Friday night at Target Field.
The Ponies were down 1-0 after the first inning, but scored twice in each of the next two innings to take a commanding lead, according to Minnesota High School League stats.
The bats were quiet for both teams in the fourth and fifth innings before Stillwater’s offense came alive again in the top of the sixth inning.

Austin Buck was dominant on the mound for the Ponies, pitching a complete game while allowing just one earned run and four hits, MSHSL stats show. He also recorded four strikeouts.
Austin Buck, Mason Buck, Mason McCurdy, Brayden Hellum and Joshua Wallace were named to the All-Tournament Team, according to Stillwater Baseball Twitter account.
An 8–1 win over Farmington gave Stillwater its second baseball state title in five seasons and third overall. The Ponies were also state champions in baseball in 2018 and 1991.
