JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The family of Jacksonville teenager Ray Pita is asking for help finding him.
They said the 18-year-old has been missing since Wednesday and they are concerned for his safety.
His family told News4JAX the last time they saw him was when he took an Uber to the Museum of Science and History near downtown on Wednesday around midnight. The Uber dropped him off at 12:23 a.m., according to the family.
His sister and her family said they have been putting up flyers downtown since his disappearance. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with black pants, a white shirt, and white shoes.
His sister Leamsi Carpio said she had not done anything like this in the past.
“He’ll go out with his friends, but he’s always like, ‘Hey, I’m going to do this,’” Carpio said.
The family also said they found her phone near MOSH, but there was no message indicating where she might have gone.
The family says it’s “weird” that he’s a teenager and doesn’t have his phone with him.
Carpio said he hopes his little brother will come home.
“He is my little brother. I have seen him grow up to become this man,” Carpio said. “He never goes looking for trouble, he never harassed anyone.”
If you see Pita, we recommend that you call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
