SUNGAI BESI – Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Datuk Kamaruddin Jaafar has emphasized that he will remain with the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and is not interested in joining the Parti Bersatu Malaysia (PBM).
Thats why he who is also vice chancellor dismissed rumors of the party leaving and called the prediction completely wrong.
“There is no intention (to join PBM).
“I stay with Bersatu. I can say that. We stay with Bersatu,” he told the media after attending Bandar Tun Razak Prihatin’s program in Pasar Sungai Besi today.
He was commenting on political analyst Ahmad Atory Hussain’s prediction that 10 former PKR MPs may withdraw their support if Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin is expelled from the cabinet.
For the record, Kamaruddin is one of 11 MPs who left Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKS), including Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (Gombak), Zuraida Kamaruddin (Ampang), Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Indera Mahkota), Baru Bian (Selangau), Datuk Mansor Othman (Nibong Tebal), Datuk Rashid Hasnon (Batu Pahat), Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar (Segamat), Ali Biju (Saratok), Willie Mongin (Puncak Borneo), and Jonathan Yasin (Ranau)
Yesterday, Bersatu’s Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) member, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, confirmed that he will not leave Bersatu and will make the party his fighting platform.
Azmin made the statement following strong rumors that the International Trade and Industry Minister would leave the party led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin along with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Datuk Seri Rashid Hasnon.
The speculation was related to the resignation of Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin as Minister for Plantation and Commodity Industries and MPT Bersatu on May 26.
