Shark Attack at Lover’s Point Beach: Man Hospitalized in Monterey Bay with Serious Bite Injuries to Stomach, Leg
On Wednesday morning, a shark may have bitten a person near Lovers Point Beach.
A surfer was allegedly attacked around 11 a.m. near Lovers Point, according to Pacific Grove City Councilman Joe Amelia.
The surfer reportedly sustained serious injuries to his stomach and leg. He was sent to the hospital, where he is currently being treated.
When witnesses saw a shark in the water, they thought it was the result of a shark attack. The beach was closed.
Lovers Point Beach has been closed by the police pending the outcome of the investigation.
Following a shark attack at Lovers Point this morning, the Monterey Herald reported that all Pacific Grove beaches will be restricted for at least 48 hours.
