Muhyiddin failed to deliver RM1.3 million to Bersatu treasurer – Mahathir
Dr. Mahathir Mohamad revealed that when he was chairman of Bersatu, Muhyiddin Yassin never gave RM1.3 million to the party’s treasurer.
The former Bersatu chairman referred to the RM1.3 million contribution allegedly received by Muhyiddin from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB) between June and August 2018.
Mahathir said that based on the Bersatu statute, if a party leader receives a contribution from any party, it must be turned over to the finance division.
“So as far as I know, Bersatu did not receive RM1.3 million. I dare not say whether or not Muhyiddin accepted from (UKSB), but there seems to be accusations that he accepted because Muhyiddin denied it.
“Only Muhyiddin can determine the reason why we cannot get information. If he receives the money, he must hand it over to the treasurer,” he told a news conference in Dewan Seri Kasih Cheras.
Mahathir was asked to comment on the allegation that Muhyiddin received RM1.3 million from UKSB by the 17th prosecution witness, David Tan, in the corruption trial of Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
However, Muhyiddin said the accusation was false. FMT
