INDONESIAN EYE, JAKARTA – One day he was appointed Minister of Commerce, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) immediately asked the big businessmen of Pancasila -enriched cooking oil not only to pursue big profits but also to pay attention to the basic principles of justice.
He made the statement after making a sudden price inspection of basic necessities at the Cibubur market in East Jakarta on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
He knew that the cooking oil entrepreneurs had made a lot of profit so far, so they had to listen to the voices of the people.
“There must be a basis for justice, we are pancasila, not just chasing big profits,” said the man with the so-called Zulhas.
Zulhas promised to crack down on businessmen who still like to play around with the price of cooking oil.
He admitted that he would do everything possible so that bulk oil, whose price was subsidized by the government, actually reaches the people.
As for the plan to phase out bulk cooking oil, Zulhas hopes there is a better way.
According to the trader’s complaint submitted to him, the distribution of bulk cooking oil is more efficient with cheap packaging at IDR 500 per kilogram.
However, the increase in the cost of packaging will reduce the profits of traders, so Zulha promised to think about it in the Ministry of Commerce.
