KUALA LUMPUR (January 22): The Information Bureau’s comprehensive mobile communications program uses a two-pronged approach to reach people and feel their pulse on current developments in the country.
Ramlen Salleh, Head of the Action and Current Affairs Group at the Labuan Information Office, said the One Stop Action Communication Program works with other local government agencies to communicate about logging and, more specifically, to discuss local issues.
“In order to ensure that the information obtained is not limited to the community under the supervision of the department, the KOMTIS program is used as one of the means to reach the community, thus serving as a bridge of communication, working to solve the problem of propaganda and correct defamation, false propaganda and misinformation”.

“In addition to serving as a platform to convey the will of the people and do the right publicity, KOMTIS also discovers local influencers as references and partners.”
Ramlen said that the theme of KOMTIS is “Sustainable Informed Social Communities” and is aimed at community groups such as influential people, government agencies, the Village Safety Development Council (JPKK), youth organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community. .

“In short, KOMTIS is a platform for the Information Office to publish government policies, collect public information and comments about the government, and serve as a bridge between locals and the government.”
“In addition to this, members of the information office do welfare or community work, such as cleaning kampung areas, places of worship, and providing assistance to the vulnerable,” he said.
