Was the EPF withdrawal abruptly approved, so that the increasingly unpopular Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob can avoid being severely beaten by delegates at the 2021 UMNO General Assembly?

Such is the question that arises among Internet users.

For the record, PAU 2021 which begins on March 16 will run until March 19, 2022.

For its part, on the first day of PAU 2021, the punctual withdrawal of the EPF was announced.

Following the announcement, Azmi Tarmizi, who is the prime minister’s press secretary, hinted that the decision was made out of political considerations.

“This means that the approval of the EPF can be done earlier, such as when the country suffered severe flooding in December 2021.”

“But you made this decision based on political considerations, before the 2021 PAU,” said Tun Izhalmi.

In addition to Tun Izhalmi, Said Azlan, who watched the announcement, also gave his opinion.

“Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri is also smart because he announced the RM10,000 EPF withdrawal when the UMNO General Assembly has just started.”

“If not, he must be beaten at the speeches of the delegates present to sit down.”

According to the closest source, PAU 2021 will see increased internal unrest in UMNO between the camp run by UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the camp run by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Previously, the Zahid camp had asked several times for EPF recalls to be approved.

However, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri refused to accept the insistence.
