The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 14, 2022 approved the Agneepath scheme for the recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers in the three services (Army, Navy, Air Force) of the Armed Forces from India. This is a new scheme, it was announced on June 16, 2022.
Under this scheme, soldiers who join the army will be known as ‘Agniveer’.
Agneepath’s scheme enlists young people between the ages of 17½ and 21 to enlist in the army under the Army Act of 1950 for just 4 years. Of which there is a provision to retain 25% of the young people for another 15 years. Agneepath Recruitment Scheme

According to IGNOU Professional Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shrikant, this bachelor’s program will run in both online and offline modes. Candidates will be able to study in class online from anywhere and along with printing material it will also be delivered so that there are no obstacles in the studies.
While in service for entrepreneurship and civil jobs including Skill India certificate etc.
Loan facility will be available for education and self-employment and business. In this, the benefit of government schemes like Mudra, Stand Up India will be available.
The necessary financial assistance will be provided by public sector banks, insurance companies and financial institutions.
A special skills-based 3-year degree program will be introduced for Agni Veers serving in the Army.
This degree will be recognized both in India and abroad for employment and education.
More skilled and empowered Agniveers will play a constructive role in building a better and more self-reliant India.

Like the permanent soldiers of the three armies, they will be entitled to awards, medals and insurance coverage. The insurance cover will be Rs 44 lakh.
Proposed Qualification for the Agnipath Scheme: Eligibility Criteria for the Agnipath Recruitment Scheme:
Agnipath’s recruitment scheme prepared by the Department of Military Affairs was previously referred to as “Tour of Duty”.
Under the Agneepath scheme, recruitment will be done in all three parts of the army. In this scheme, young people will be recruited into the army for a short period (4 years), receive training and be assigned to different departments according to their qualifications.
Recruitment dates at Agneepath Yojana have been announced and the qualifications required for this are as follows.
The age of the applicant for the Agneepath scheme must be between 17 and 21 years.
The applicant must have passed class 12 with at least 50% points.
Apart from this, a three-year diploma in engineering can also be applied.
For General Service, candidates should have passed 10th with 45% grades.
You must be a citizen of India.
The selected young people will have to serve for 3 and a half years after 6 months of training.

Announcement of recruitment dates at Agneepath Yojana:
The Central Government has also announced the start dates of the contracting process in the three services.
The Army recruitment process will begin on July 1, 2022.
The Air Force recruitment process will begin on June 24, 2022.
The Navy contracting process will begin on June 25, 2022.

Amount received by Agni Veero under Agneepath Yojana (Salary):
Farmers recruited under the Agneepath scheme will receive a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 starting at Rs 30,000 in the first year, Rs 33,000 in the second year, Rs 36,500 in the third year till the fourth year.
Under the Seva Nidhi scheme, the government will deposit 30 percent of monthly income and then contribute the same amount.
After 4 years, Agni Veers will receive Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh and this money will be tax free.
