PUTRAJAYA, Jan 7 – The Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) has converted the KEMAS facility and kindergarten into a one-stop center for checking eligibility for post-flood home repair assistance.

His minister, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, said the census of the number of houses that need to be repaired and rebuilt is underway and construction work will be carried out once the census data is complete.

“KPLB has decided to turn the KEMAS facility and kindergarten at the flood site into a one-stop center starting next Tuesday to make it easier to review and register for eligibility.

“To start with, KPLB will be at KEMAS Bukit Changgang Kindergarten, Banting Selangor for three days starting this Tuesday to update and verify the details of eligible applicants for post-flood home repair assistance.”

He said as much in a statement to the media here today.

According to Mahdzir, all requests by heads of households (KIR) for home repairs must be made through the Disaster Operations Control Center, the District PKOB and the District Office before being confirmed and registered by the Unit. of Implementation Coordination, ICU, Department of the Prime Minister.

KPLB also mobilized all the chairmen of the Village Safety and Development Committee (JPKK) to help collect data on residents affected by the flood disaster to send to the district PKOB.

“The repair period depends on the level of damage and will be implemented by the Executing Agency, while for the reconstruction of the house the time is three to four months depending on the preparation of the site.”

He added that under the KPLB Housing Assistance Program, an allowance of RM15,000 is provided for house repairs and RM56,000 for new house construction in Peninsular Malaysia.

Meanwhile, RM68,000 for Sabah and Sarawak to build new houses.

“For the flood victim house repair program, I was informed that today KPLB started damage assessment, repair work is expected to start tomorrow on nine flood victim houses in Kuala Klawang and Chennah, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan”.

At the same time, KPLB also said that Mahdzir invited the Ministry and other agencies involved with Malaysian Family Flood Relief to facilitate the process of channeling post-flood aid into the facility’s One-Stop Center and Kemas Kindergarten provided. by KPLB.
