KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia has examined the content of the memorandum submitted by Umno Youth on the implementation of the National 5G Project by Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
His minister, Annuar Musa, said issues raised in the memorandum included the actual cost based on annual breakdown, equipment and operating costs of the country’s 5G network, as well as a detailed explanation of the wholesale price. to telecommunications companies.
“In this regard, the ministry will help extend a copy of this memorandum to the finance ministry as most of the matters contained in the memorandum are not under the ministry’s jurisdiction,” it said in a statement.
Annuar said the ministry also held a ceremony to provide further clarification to help those who are still unclear on the related issues, especially those under the jurisdiction of the ministry.
He said that DNB was currently a wholly state-owned company under the control and supervision of the Ministry of Finance.
“The Ministry of Finance is taking measures to restructure the company’s share ownership structure and regulatory methods in accordance with the latest Cabinet decision on the matter,” it said.
Yesterday, it was reported that the Umno Youth Exco Fairuz Jamaludin, who is also the chairman of the Umno Youth workers’ secretariat, represented the wing and handed over the memorandum to Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Zahidi Zainul Abidin.
