Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police said he received calls about a vehicle weaving through traffic.
We are now seeing video of him heavily intoxicated while drinking whiskey as he told a crowd about his relationship with drinking just hours before his DUI arrest on Sunday.
The 44-year-old wrestler was filmed at a wrestling convention in Orlando on Sunday, telling the crowd: “Whiskey is my best friend and my worst enemy.”
The footage was captured about 12 hours before Hardy was arrested for DUI. According to TMZ, police documents say Hardy had a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than three times the legal limit of .08, registering .294 and .291 in two readings.
Several officers drew their weapons as Hardy “reached into a black backpack,” according to the arrest report. It is the third DUI offense for Hardy in the last 10 years.
The DUI offense is a third degree felony.
The wrestler, who was scheduled to compete at an AEW event this week, has been suspended by AEW without pay.
